Volunteering to Help

I took advantage of the sunny weather this weekend to paint the house, patch the roof, and basically get the house ready for the winter season. As I began raking the leaves, my kids wanted to help. I said okay to let them be part of the the raking team. In any case, I think it is a good idea to let kids help out when they actually volunteer to help. I wonder if this sort of volunteerism will occur during their teen years. I hope so.
